PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM
The Talent Development Program aims to support CAUFP members in advancing their professional careers by offering financial assistance for completing professional certifications in the fields of Investment Management (CFA), Professional Accounting (CPA), and Financial Planning (CFP). Through this initiative, we aim to provide candidates with the resources to excel by reducing the financial barriers associated with crucial exams in the financial services industry.
As part of the initiative, CAUFP is offering financial support in the form of 50% off exam fees for one candidate in each of the following areas:
- 50% off of one CFA exam (standard registration fee: $1,375 CAD incl. tax)
- 50% off of one CPA Common Final Exam (CFE) (registration fee: $2,034 CAD incl. tax)
- 50% off the Case Study Exam (one of the final CFP exams) for a CFP candidate:
- Stream 1: CFP Certification Route for Bankers
- Financial Planning I and Financial Planning II (registration fee: $800 – $875 CAD incl. tax)
- Stream 2: CFP Certification Route for Mutual Fund Representatives
- Financial Planning Supplement (FPSU) (registration fee: $985 – $1030 CAD incl. tax)
- Stream 1: CFP Certification Route for Bankers
The candidate must hold a current CAUFP membership to qualify for consideration.

The primary benefit of this program is to alleviate the financial burden associated with the CFA, CFP, and CPA exams, enabling candidates to fully focus on their preparation.
WHO WE ARE SPONSORING
CAUFP will sponsor three current members, each in pursuit of completing one of the respective exams.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To be eligible for sponsorship, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Current CAUFP Membership: The candidate must be a current member of CAUFP. (Not a member? Join our community of financial professionals by contacting [email protected], and we’ll assist you with the membership process.)
- Certification Exam: Clearly specify which professional designation exam (CFA, CPA (CFE), or CFP) you are seeking financial support for.
- Required Documents:
- Resume
- Cover letter
- University or college transcripts
- Adjudication Questions: Answer the adjudication questions through the questionnaire.
REIMBURSEMENT PROCESS
- Submit Proof of Payment: Provide a copy of the payment receipt or invoice for the exam registration.
- Send to CAUFP: Send the receipt to [email protected] for review.
- Review & Approval: CAUFP will review your submission and confirm eligibility for reimbursement.
- Reimbursement Issued: Once approved, the reimbursement will be processed and issued to the applicant.

1. Do I have to be a CAUFP Member to qualify for the program?
Yes, you must be a current CAUFP member to be considered for sponsorship.
2. I am not a CAUFP member, but I want to receive this benefit. What should I do?
To be eligible, you’ll need to become a CAUFP member.
3. Can I apply if I’ve already taken some of the exam preparation?
Yes, as long as you are currently pursuing the certification (CFA, CFP, or CPA) and meet all other eligibility criteria, you can apply for financial support.
4. How will the selected candidates be notified?
Once the adjudication process is complete, the selected candidates will be notified by a member of the CAUFP team via email.
5. Is the 50% sponsorship available for all exam fees?
The 50% sponsorship applies to the registration fees for the one CFA exam, one CPA (CFE), or one CFP exam, as outlined in the program details.
