The Paget Warner Scholarship
The Paget Warner Scholarship honors the life and legacy of CAUFP’s founder, Paget Warner, aiming to promote and celebrate multi-generational Black excellence. This scholarship provides a $5,000 award to two Black students pursuing a career in business.
The Black Business Scholarship
The Black in Business Scholarship provides a grant to a black student who is interested in a business career, has demonstrated a commitment to the black community and academic excellence. All applicants must be enrolled in either the 11th or the 12th grade at a Canadian secondary institution.
The Meridian Financial Confidence Grant
The Meridian Financial Confidence Grant provides a $5,000 scholarship to a black female who is dedicated to fostering financial literacy and empowerment throughout the black community.
The Dentons-CAUFP Scholarship
The Dentons-CAUFP Scholarship provides a $5,000 renewable scholarship to a first-year law student at a Canadian law school who has an interest in business law, and has demonstrated a commitment to the black community and academic excellence.
Meet Our Recent Scholarship Winners
Congratulations to Nahomy Milembaname, the 2024 recipient of the Paget Warner Scholarship.
Nahomy is a driven entrepreneur and a fourth-year Commerce student at Nipissing University. With a specialized background in supply chain management, she makes the most out of every opportunity presented to her. Her passion for business and community service positions her as a natural leader and advocate for lifelong learning, believing that every challenge and opportunity should be approached with excellence and care. As the founder and CEO of Shouts Naturals, a hair care brand offering organic, non-toxic solutions for curly and kinky-textured hair, Nahomy has grown her business by formulating and selling products online. Her entrepreneurial journey has been recognized with features in Elle Canada Magazine and CTV Ottawa.
In addition to her business accomplishments, Nahomy is a committed community leader and volunteer. She received the 2024 Yolande Davidson Scholarship, an award that honors a student who stands out in leadership and community service. Nahomy devotes her time to her local church, Throne of Jesus Christ, and the Black community, mentoring youth, supporting outreach programs, and offering translation services. She’s also a sponsor of the Villages of Hope Africa charity, which provides hope and assistance to children across Africa. Through her volunteer work, Nahomy fosters a sense of unity and support, earning her respect and admiration.
Congratulations to Kewe Ewebiyi, the 2024 recipient of the Paget Warner Scholarship.
Keye Ewebiyi is a passionate finance professional with a diverse background spanning global treasury management, capital markets, financial reporting, and strategic finance. Since relocating to Canada two years ago, he has worked with leading firms in the not-for-profit, real estate, and financial services sectors. He recently completed a summer internship at Canaccord Genuity Corp as a Capital Markets Analyst. Prior to moving to Canada, he worked for over six years as a Fixed Income and Currency Trader, covering emerging markets in Africa. Keye holds a Bachelor of Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor of Economics from Lagos State University, Nigeria. He is also a Chartered Accountant with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and holds the Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) designation. He is currently pursuing his MBA at the Schulich School of Business, York University.
Keye has a long-standing commitment to community service, volunteering with the Red Cross Society and Action Aid International, and continues to support local charities in the Greater Toronto Area. While at the Lagos State University, he served as the General Secretary of the Students Union and later as the National Coordinator of the youth arm of ActionAid Nigeria, Activista Nigeria, a network of young people passionate about Nigeria. He has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Carrington Youth Fellowship Initiative’s Governance Ambassador Award, the Lagos State University Scholarship Award, the Gani Fawehinmi Scholarship Award, the Schulich School of Business Dean’s Entrance Award, and the Canaccord Genuity Award of Excellence. Since beginning his MBA at Schulich last year, Keye has taken on leadership roles, including serving as a Graduate Student Ambassador and spearheading efforts to revive the Schulich Black Graduate Business Network (BGBN), where he now serves as Co-President. The BGBN is a network of over 60 African and Afro-Caribbean graduate students at Schulich School of Business, committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for Black students to thrive in both their academic and professional journeys.
Congratulations to Divine Tatchinda, the 2023-2024 recipient of the Dentons Canadian Association of Urban Financial Professionals Scholarship.
Divine is a first-year student in the Bachelor of Civil Law and Juris Doctor program at McGill University. As a co-founder and active participant in multiple social initiatives, he leverages his expertise in economics and business, along with his legal acumen, to develop innovative solutions and opportunities that benefit his community.
Divine’s passion for giving back to his community is evident in the summer he spent at Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP, advising organizations on increasing Black participation within the legal sector. Remarkably, Divine holds a versatile resume with experience in accounting, corporate finance, and personal banking given his previous work at Desjardins, IvyLine Capital Group and PwC. He currently works as a Legal Intern at PSP Investments. As an active law student at McGill, Divine previously worked as the VP of Finance at McGill’s Black Students’ Network and as a Campus Ambassador for ICON Talent Partners – an organization that connects diverse talent with top firms. As Divine continues to ascend in his career, we look forward to seeing his success as a transformational leader and outstanding example for other Black professionals.
First announced at the 2021 CAUFP No Boundaries Youth Summit, the Dentons-CAUFP Scholarship awards a CA$5,000 renewable scholarship to a first-year law student at a Canadian law school who has an interest in business law, and has demonstrated a commitment to both the Black community and academic excellence.

Meet Zainab C. Williams, CFP®, the 2024 Meridian Credit Union Financial Confidence Scholarship Awardee!
Founder & CEO of FundEvolve Inc., Zainab is revolutionising the financial landscape for women. From climbing the corporate ladder to founding her own ventures, she’s a true inspiration!
Zainab graduated with Honours from York University. She is a highly accomplished professional with a diverse background in finance and entrepreneurship. She began her career at CROSSMARK, swiftly advancing to roles of increasing responsibility. Transitioning to Ford Credit Company, she excelled as a Credit Analyst, managing substantial credit portfolios. Zainab’s commitment to financial literacy led her to earn designations such as the Certified Financial Planner.
With a passion for empowering women financially, Zainab founded Elleverity Wealth Management and FundEvolve. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by underserved communities during the COVID-19 pandemic, she built FundEvolve and is preparing to launch the platform to provide hands-on financial planning. Through her businesses, Zainab aims to enable women to achieve financial independence and security on their own terms.
